OFF THE SHELF

Here at Thorden we pride ourselves in the level of after sales support and advice that we offer. To keep your glass products looking as good as new it is important to use the correct cleaning products on a regular basis.

Pictured is a selection of the products that we recommend – the Miracle Scrub Cream Cleanser, Invisible Surface Protectant and CRL Hi-Shine Glass Cleaner.

These mild abrasive cleaners remove mineral deposits, rust, limescale, soap scum & organic stains, will seal the pores of glass to make it surface water, soil and stain resistant, and will brighten the glass without leaving a film.

Pop into our showroom for more advice on how to look after your glass and to purchase cleaning products.

INTRODUCING: DONNA

Having spent 15 years at the second biggest glass company in Sydney, Donna couldn’t resist the opportunity to return to the industry on moving to Whakatane in 2005.

Responsible for scheduling jobs, Donna keeps a tight control on the Thorden team to ensure that customers’ expectations are met at every stage in the process, from measurement right through to installation. “She has a wonderful manner with both the team and our customers” says Vanessa, Director at Thorden Glass. “This, coupled with her exemplary organisational skills keep us all on track – Donna will know exactly where a job is at any point in time.”

Donna is obviously a very sociable person, loving the day to day contact with customers and working so closely with the team at Thorden. When she’s not working Donna can be found socialising with friends and her two young boys.

SNIPPET

Collateral

A CEO of a large corporation walked into a bank in New York City one day and asked for the loan officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Europe on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $10,000.The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan.

The CEO handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produced the title and everything checked out.
The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank’s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the CEO for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $10,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank’s underground garage and parked it there. Two weeks later, the CEO returned, repaid the $10,000 and the interest, which came to $25.41.

The loan officer said, “Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi millionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow “$10,000?”The CEO replied: “Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $25.41 and expect it to be there when I return”
